This session will introduce participants to the Christmas Bird Count, one of the longest-running community science projects in North America, and explore how birders can get involved, join an existing count, or start and lead a count in their own community.
Our expert panel will feature Ben Haywood, Director of Community Science at the National Audubon Society; Richard Johnston, Audubon Senior Coordinator for Community Science, Latin America and the Caribbean; and Greg Butcher, ornithologist and former Migratory Species Coordinator for U.S. Forest Service International Programs.
