Stores will line their shelves with all kinds of products for holiday celebrations, such as for Easter which is just around the corner. Although reusing your family’s traditional holiday settings and decorations year after year is a wise reuse of any plastics, perhaps it is time to start a new tradition of using non-plastic items instead. There are many options on the market to choose from. For example, you can use wooden eggs for your Easter egg hunt (pre-painted, or get them from a craft store and paint them with your kids!); Easter baskets made of wood, bamboo, or fabric; and raffia (a plant) or shredded color paper as faux grass in the basket. And buy those chocolate eggs in bulk, then wrap them in paper or foil!
